What are Australia’s Largest Commercial and Utility Scale Solar Farms?

Australia has 238 large scale commercial or utility solar systems installed. Australia’s largest commercial and utility scale solar farms have a system size greater than 100kWp. This is equal to at least 400 regular solar panels. These systems can create large scale generation certificates under Australia’s Renewable Energy Target. Each 1 MWh of electricity produced creates 1 LGC (large-scale generation certificate). The Clean Energy Regulator collects and publishes information about the number of renewable energy certificates. All accredited power stations must submit the total amount of electricity their power plant has generated in the previous calendar year by the 14th of February. By accessing the REC Registry website Australian’s may add the total number of LGCs and find the energy a power station has produced in the previous year.
